Kids of all ages will enjoy this rhyming story poem about a long-ago vintage Christmas gathering of three generations at Grandma and Grandpa's sheep farm. One little boy wonders why Santa hasn't come so he escapes the crowd, hoping he might spot Santa landing on the roof. When he runs into the barn and sees the sheep among the hay, he remembers the birth of baby Jesus in a stable.
Later Santa surprises everyone by tramping across the barnyard and coming in the front door to deliver presents to the children. The story shows the love of grandparents for grandchildren and ties the meaning of Santa sharing gifts to the Magi bringing gifts to the Christ child.
Listen to the narrator read the story, or sit with a child and read the story aloud to them. A child can also read the story to themselves.
